Free Radical Effects -
The Expansion Of Medical Interest
The March 1993 paper in the Lancet is just another
example of the reports of free radical research now appearing
regularly in the professional medical press. Other conditions in which
free radicals have been implicated or suspected of being important
include :
Free radicals have also been found to be active in
alcohol toxicity and in bringing about the tumour – destructive action
of anticancer drugs.
Papers on free radicals have appeared in numerous medical and other
journals from all over the world. Here are a few, in addition to those
already mentioned, that have published articles on the subject: Acta
Physiologica Scandinavica, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition,
American Journal of Epidemiology, Annals of Clinical Biochemistry,
Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Biochemical
Medicine, Cancer Research, Free Radical Biology and Medicine,
Gastroenterology, International Journal of Epidemiology, Journal of
the American College of Cardiology, Journal of Biological Chemistry,
Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry, Journal of Pharmacology, Nature and
Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology.
With this much serious medical and scientific interest in the subject,
can you really afford to ignore it ?
